LOBA Productions is a is committed to creating work that sparks conversation, fosters community, and invites audiences to see familiar stories from unexpected angles. Her short films are designed to be experienced collectively, where the energy of a live audience can transform a screening into a shared cultural experience.
Jenny Alvarado is a Tejana filmmaker and University of Texas at Austin graduate whose work explores the space between genre storytelling, cultural identity, and social commentary. Drawing inspiration from Austin's independent spirit, she creates films that blend humor, absurdity, and emotional honesty while centering unconventional characters and overlooked perspectives.
Her work embraces experimentation, challenging traditional boundaries between high and low culture, art and entertainment, sincerity and satire. Through narrative and visual storytelling, she examines the tensions between personal experience, cultural mythology, and contemporary society.

When a directionless, unemployed Tejana wakes to discover a corpse in the bed of her truck, her only ally is a foul-mouthed rubber chicken with the voice of an abuelita—the unapologetic embodiment of her most reckless impulses.

An auteur wages war against a relentless enemy: themself. As a gallery opening looms, procrastination manifests as a physical force bent on preventing the completion of a single work of art. TORMENTEUR is a surreal comedy about imposter syndrome, creative paralysis, and the self-sabotage lurking behind every masterpiece.
